The 阿拉莫大学 区 has been awarded a $1.96 million grant for the 阿拉莫大学 Open Educational 资源 (OER) Consortium Project 穿过美国.S. Department of Education’s Open Textbooks Pilot Program for community colleges and universities. 

This year, 阿拉莫大学 is one of only five institutions to receive the grant funding.

The 阿拉莫大学 OER Consortium Project will provide support for the AlamoBOOKS+ initiative, 一个创新, dual-investment program that provides 阿拉莫大学 students with universal access to instructional materials, including open educational resources.

“This grant funding will be pivotal for the 阿拉莫大学 to sustain the viability of AlamoBOOKS+ and create new and innovative professional development opportunities,”医生说。. 圣安东尼奥学院 will be leading the grant activities with participation from all five 阿拉莫大学. 

三年以上, 75 faculty will complete professional development in OER and develop open content for high-enrollment courses, including five introductory courses in government, 历史, 英语, 心理学和数学. These high-enrollment courses are part of the core 15 credit hours for Career and Technical Education high-wage, 高需求的途径. 

The Open Textbooks program is estimated to serve approximately 10,000 students. The funding will also support the 阿拉莫大学 区 in developing a repository to share OER and to support faculty collaboration across the five colleges.
